Red Flags: The Making of the Music Video
A documentary by Jake Jakubowski
About the documentary
Red Flags: The Making of the Music Video with Ali Hart is a short American documentary produced, written, and directed by Jake Jakubowski. The film offers a behind-the-scenes chronicle of the production of the music video for “Red Flags,” a track by singer-songwriter Ali Hart (styled as ALI HART) of Bath, Maine. This featurette is Jakubowski’s second documentary, following The Mayor: A Chronicle of Williams Syndrome, and was released on July 12, 2024.
While “Red Flags” is not Ali Hart’s first composition, it marks her first major music production and includes a dedicated music video.
The documentary follows Ali over four production days. It opens with Hart gathering counterweights for camera rigs and reflecting on a spiritual connection to stones used in sweat-lodge ceremonies. Day One unfolds at Studio 48 in Brunswick, where Hart and her family position a baby grand piano on stage in preparation for the shoot. Day Two moves to the Citrus Club in Portland, where Hart discusses the song’s meaning. Day Three travels to Dresden and features a 1972 Chevrolet Chevelle SS. Day Four concludes in Bath, Maine, with a condominium interior set for a restaurant-style and dance sequence.

Ali Hart
Ali Hart (stylized ALI H:ART) is an independent DJ/producer, singer, and songwriter based in Bath, Maine. A self‑described “late bloomer,” she stepped into music with purpose after years of quietly honing her craft. In 2024 she released her debut single “Red Flags,” pairing the track with a self‑produced music video that foregrounds her ear for groove, texture, and cathartic hooks. Onstage, Hart blends live vocals with a DJ’s instinct for dynamics; in the studio she builds warm, propulsive arrangements that nod to classic funk and hip‑hop as much as contemporary pop. Community‑minded and collaborative by design, she brings a welcoming, team‑first energy to every session and set. Red Flags: The Making of the Music Video follows that spirit in action, documenting Ali and a small crew as they turn a bold idea into three unforgettable minutes.
